Team News

Wexford continue their winning streak in the inter club matches. The ladies junior cup team had a great win over Callan last Sunday in Enniscorthy. Margaret Atkinson put the first point on the board for Wexford winning on the 17th before Lily Rowe won her match on the 14th. Things were tighter in the other two matches; Yvonne MacSweeney was going up 19 and Leonie Furlong was 1up playing 18. Maggie Hearne sealed the deal for Wexford winning on the 17th to send Wexford through to the second round. Team: Margaret Atkinson, Leonie Furlong, Lily Rowe, Yvonne Mac Sweeney and Maggie Hearne Team Manager Sally O Neill.

The gents Provincial Towns team came up against a strong Enniscorthy team also on Sunday and were unfortunately beaten 6-3. The home team was Pat Mags Murphy, Neil Murphy, Christy O Gorman, Joe Moore and Paul Hynes, the away team was Tommy Morrissey, Gary Martin, Sean Healy and John Hammond. The Gents Pierce Purcell team narrowly missed out on qualification in Roundwood today. The team came 5th missing out by 2 shots. The team was Mick Fortune/Mick Rossiter, Pearse Frawley/Paul Bridges, Ted Hynes/Paul Harrington, Ian Nolan/Richie Browne and Ed Mooney/Jim Keane Team Manager: Nicky Reville

The ladies Finn Trophy team had a brilliant win over Carlow today (Saturday) in difficult weather conditions. The dynamic duo of Ruth Kennedy and Mary Walsh got the first win for Wexford winning their match on the 16th, Margaret Atkinson and Osnat Manning secured a early win on the 15th before Lily Rowe and Mary O Leary sealed the match for Wexford winning on the 18th. Another busy week ahead for our teams; The Ladies Senior Cup team play their 1st round match against Arklow on Saturday 20th in Athy followed by the Mixed Foursomes team who play Waterford also on Saturday. Best of luck to all!
